Knowing God’s Will

God’s will for your life. You can know what it is. Right here. Right now. It’s not hidden, nor even difficult to discern.

Here is what to do: Read I Thessalonians 5:16-18.

Congratulations – you just discovered the answer that so many wrack their brains and agonize over to try to tap into what God wants them to do, where He wants them to go and who He wants them to be.

A mere 22 words (in the ESV) to unlock a mystery that needlessly confounds so many Christians. What are those 22 magic words? If they were given to you right here, you might not open your Bible. We do not want to encourage laziness, but rather a deep desire for His Word by pointing you to dive into it yourself.*

After all, there is joy in those pages. They teach us about prayer and thanksgiving, among other things. And mostly about Jesus Christ. Who He was, who He is, where He came from and why, what He did, and how our relationship with Him is the key to … forever.

So dig into the beautiful fifth chapter of the New Testament epistle of I Thessalonians. And consider deeply the ramifications of the three small verses 16, 17 and 18. Taken to heart, they will align you with the sovereign God of all that is seen and unseen.
